Context
This Instructional Design Document guided the development of Time Management Strategies for Therapists, a custom eLearning course created for PhyziX. Designed for early-career physical therapists, the course aimed to improve workflow efficiency and daily productivity by addressing real challenges faced in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Challenge
Therapists at PhyziX were struggling to make effective use of unstructured time during the workday. Gaps in their schedules often led to delayed documentation, missed administrative tasks, and limited time for professional development. These inefficiencies created bottlenecks in clinic operations and impacted patient care.
Solution
I designed an interactive, scenario-based course that introduced therapists to actionable time management strategies. Using tools like Articulate Storyline, Vyond, and Canva, I developed a visually engaging and results-focused experience. The course featured techniques such as the Two-Minute Rule, time blocking, and the Eisenhower Matrix, allowing learners to build practical skills they could immediately apply in their daily routines.
Impact
The course helped therapists streamline administrative work, prioritize more effectively, and make space for continuous learning. Within two weeks of launch, 80 percent of learners were applying at least two of the strategies consistently. This contributed to timely documentation, improved patient care, and stronger overall clinic performance. The project demonstrated my ability to translate a business need into a targeted, learner-centered solution that drives measurable results.
Context
The storyboard outlines the first phase of development for Time Management Strategies for Therapists, an eLearning course designed in Articulate Storyline for early-career physical therapists at PhyziX. Modules 1 and 2 focus on activating prior knowledge, introducing the course goals, and guiding learners to reflect on their current time management strategies. The design blends learner input, interactive elements, and personalized feedback to support engagement and relevance.
Challenge
Therapists at PhyziX struggle to manage unstructured downtime, prioritize tasks effectively, and maintain momentum when their schedules are disrupted by last-minute patients. Many lack practical tools to structure their day in a way that supports both patient care and professional development.
Solution
The storyboard introduces a focused, interactive learning experience through Modules 1 and 2. It opens with a relatable workplace scenario to hook attention, then transitions into a guided self-reflection. Learners explore different time management styles and assess their own habits through knowledge activation cards, scenario questions, and feedback layers. The structure ensures learners actively engage with the material and begin identifying practical improvement areas right away.
Impact
By the end of Module 2, learners will have a clearer understanding of their current approach to time management and specific behaviors they can target for change. This foundation sets the stage for deeper strategy instruction in upcoming modules, ultimately driving more efficient workflows, improved task prioritization, and more intentional use of time in a clinical setting.
